SF/F Search Engine Added and Free SF Classifieds
17/12/05 14:05 Site NewsPermalink
I have added a custom science fiction and fantasy search
engine here at Shadowdark.org, it is a
fairly good place to start searching the web for
SF if I do say so myself. Plus I'm beta testing
SF classifieds.

I have added a Science Fiction and Fantasy
Forums search which searches 7 good SFF
forums, and learns from us, the community, what
is relevent.
I have also added a Horror Forums Search which searches 10 horror forums.
There are a number of specialized search engines available on Shadowdark.org, covering RPG articles, Sword and Planet, and H. P. Lovecraft.

RIP Science Fiction Meta Search

For the last couple of years we ran a little SFFH
meta search page which let our users search several
directories. I have retired that page permanently. It
got some traffic but so many of the genre directories
have disappeared that it was largely broken for
searching. It was always meant as a stop-gap measure
anyway.
Shadowdark.org Launches New Horror Search Engine
23/11/05 14:57 Site NewsPermalink
Today, I launched a horror, dark fantasy and monster
search engine named: Planet Doom. I had previously
operated Planet Doom as a directory on
Searchking.com, but in 2004 Searchking quit
repairing the broken directories so Planet Doom
limped on unable to be updated for over a year,
but still with many faithful users.
The new Planet Doom is a real search engine in that it spiders the URL's that are put into it and respiders those URL's at regular intervals. The focus of Planet Doom has shifted towards horror and dark fantasy a bit more, since I have another directory which covers science fiction and fantasy.
I hope you enjoy it.
